Mr. Karl Walbrecht has over 20 years of experience in software development for transportation and logistics, and has an in-depth knowledge of Geospatial and Cartographic systems. Mr. Walbrecht’s expertise is in turning raw data into 3D representations of actual systems and in the development of large scale multiuser systems. He currently is a subject matter expert for the FAA in Obstruction Evaluation, Geospatial processing, and 3D rendering.
Over the past five year, Mr. Walbrecht has been leading the development effort of the geospatial evaluation / rendering of obstructions and how those obstructions interact with the FAA’s virtual surfaces such as Part 77, Airport Design Surfaces and One Engine Inoperative Surfaces.
Mr. Walbrecht is currently involved in projects with both the airline industry and the FAA, in an effort to better model the industries One Engine Inoperative procedures and how these procedures interact with proposed obstacles.
