Barry presently serves as the manager of the Federal Aviation Administration’s Aeronautical Information Management Group. He manages the operation of the FAA’s National Flight Data Center, Obstacle Evaluation Service, Alaska Weather Cameras, and Airspace Management Laboratory. In addition to managing the automation systems for those services, he manages the planning, engineering, development, and operation of all of the FAA’s NOTAM systems and support to pilot briefing systems.
Barry has more than 30 years of automation experience in industry and government. He holds a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Economics from the University of Maryland (UMBC) and a Masters of Engineering Science (MES) in Digital Systems from Loyola Collage (Maryland).
In addition, Barry was a member of the planning committee for the 2006, 2007, and 2008 Global AIS Congresses. He continues to work as an active member of the Global Consortium in implementing the recommendations from the Congress.
